Emilio Nsue and Edu Salvador, both excluded from the Equatorial Guinea national football team by the Federation, have taken to Instagram to shed light on what they claim is rampant corruption and malpractices within the country’s football governing body.
Addressing the public on an Instagram Live session, the players vehemently denied accusations of indiscipline and misconduct, asserting that they had been unfairly tarnished.
Emilio Nsue, a seasoned 34-year-old striker, presented compelling evidence to counter the allegations and proceeded to unveil a series of shocking revelations implicating the Equatoguinean Federation.
Nsue disclosed instances of fake vaccines and blood tests orchestrated to gain entry into Ivory Coast for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The player alleged that these deceptive measures were taken with the sole purpose of participating in the tournament.
Furthermore, he claimed that the Federation ceased payment for the team’s hotel accommodations during their stay, instructing players to vacate shortly before their return to Equatorial Guinea.
The most damning revelation came when Nsue accused Federation leaders of embezzling funds, alleging the misappropriation of 1 million euros.
He suggested that this large sum, meant to benefit local football development, was instead stolen and shared among the Federation’s leadership.
The Equatoguinean captain, referring to a documented meeting about the budget, criticized the conduct of the Vice President and the Minister, alleging their involvement in financial impropriety.
Nsue contended that the leadership had undermined the purpose of the funds, diverting resources intended for the advancement of local football.
These revelations, made during the Instagram Live session, highlight the internal turmoil and alleged corruption within the Equatorial Guinea Football Federation.
The players’ claims raise serious concerns about the governance and financial integrity of football administration in the country.
