England youth international of Nigerian descent, Ethan Nwaneri, made a memorable impact off the bench on Sunday evening, scoring in Arsenal’s commanding 5-1 victory over Manchester City in the English Premier League.

The teenage forward was included in the squad for the highly anticipated clash but had to wait for his opportunity. After watching from the sidelines for most of the match, he was introduced in the 84th minute, replacing Leandro Trossard.

Arsenal took an early lead when Kai Havertz set up Martin Ødegaard, who kept his composure to slot the ball into the middle of the net. However, Manchester City responded in the 55th minute through Erling Haaland, who connected with a precise cross from Savinho to level the score.

Just a minute later, Arsenal regained control as Thomas Partey capitalized on a defensive mistake to fire home and restore the lead. Myles Lewis-Skelly extended the advantage in the 62nd minute after being set up by Declan Rice, while Kai Havertz added a fourth in the 76th minute with a clinical finish following a pass from Gabriel Martinelli.

In stoppage time, Ethan Nwaneri marked his brief appearance with a goal, meeting a precise cross from Declan Rice and expertly directing the ball into the left side of the net to round off Arsenal’s emphatic 5-1 win.
