Manchester United has suffered a significant setback, with young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo expected to be sidelined for several weeks due to injury.
Reports suggest that the 19-year-old will be unavailable for selection in the coming weeks, ruling him out of United’s crucial clash against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Adding to the team’s concerns, midfielders Manuel Ugarte and Toby Collyer are also set to miss the fixture.
In their absence, Casemiro and Christian Eriksen are likely to feature in Ruben Amorim’s starting lineup.
Addressing the media, the Portuguese manager acknowledged the squad’s challenges, saying: “(It) was a good week until two days ago, we had some problems.
“We don’t have players back, maybe we have one or two issues, we are waiting.
“We have one player who is sick, we will see on the weekend,” he added.
Mainoo has been a key player for United this season, making 18 appearances. Despite being linked with a move away in the winter transfer window, he remained at the club, continuing to play an important role in the squad.
