Tyrique George joins Everton on permanent deal

Everton have announced the permanent signing of English-Ghanaian winger Tyrique George from Chelsea ahead of the new campaign.

The 20-year-old attacker joins the Merseyside outfit for an undisclosed fee, having spent the second half of the 2025/26 campaign on loan with the Toffees.

The dynamic attacker, who impressed during his temporary stint with Everton has now signed a four-year contract, keeping him at the club until the end of June 2030.

George, who impressed during his temporary stint with Everton, now becomes a full member of the squad as the club continues to invest in young players capable of shaping the team’s future.

The English-Ghanaian attacker joins Hayden Hackney (Middlesbrough), and Merlin Röhi as the latest addition to the Everton squad ahead of the new season.

Everton’s decision to make the move permanent reflects the confidence the club has in his long-term development and potential impact at senior level.

During his loan spell last season, George made 11 appearances for Everton and showed flashes of his ability despite his young age. His performances convinced the club’s hierarchy and technical staff that he could become an important part of the team moving forward.

The 20-year-old’s journey began at Chelsea, joining the west London club aged eight, and rising through the ranks all the way to the senior team, where, coincidentally, he was named on the bench for the senior side for the first time against Everton in April 2024.

George made his first-team debut for the Londoners in a UEFA Conference League play-off round four months later, at the beginning of what became a breakthrough 2024/25 season.

The forward played in 12 of 13 Conference League games – starting eight alongside now-Everton teammate Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – as Chelsea went all the way to clinch the European trophy, as well as making two appearances in the triumphant FIFA Club World Cup campaign later that summer.
