Essaïd Belkalem is set to make his return to competition this weekend after being sidelined due to injury. The Algerian international defender has resumed collective training with his club, Watford, and is expected to be fit for their upcoming Championship match against Bolton Wanderers on the 23rd day of the season.
“I should be returning to competition next Saturday. I’ve been training with the team for three weeks now, and I’m gradually regaining my full fitness,” said Belkalem in an interview with RFI.
The 24-year-old defender suffered an ankle injury last November but has now fully recovered and is eager to make a strong comeback. Belkalem expressed his determination to perform well both for his club and for the Algerian national team, emphasizing his commitment to not disappoint the national coach.
“I must continue to work hard to establish myself within the team and be ready for the World Cup,” he stated, highlighting his aspirations to secure a spot in the Algerian squad for the upcoming tournament.
Belkalem, who joined Watford on loan from Udinese during the off-season, is poised to make a significant impact for both club and country as he returns to action.
