The English Football Association (FA) is considering a comprehensive ban on football betting for all individuals involved in the sport. Darren Bailey, the head of the FA, announced this proposal on Wednesday, emphasizing the need to uphold the integrity and credibility of football.
Currently, regulations prohibit players and club officials from betting on matches or competitions in which they are directly or indirectly involved. The proposed ban would extend to betting on transfers, managerial appointments or dismissals, and team compositions.
Bailey stressed the importance of clearly defining boundaries for anyone active in football to maintain the sport’s integrity.
