An Italian sports daily reported on Friday that Tim Sherwood, the current coach of Tottenham, will not be retained by the club’s president. According to this publication, the London club has found a replacement in Massimiliano Allegri.
Corriere dello Sport, which prominently features the news on its front page, suggests that Allegri, the former coach of AC Milan, has agreed to join Tottenham. He is tasked with leading the club back among the top four teams in England next season, a challenging endeavor considering the resurgence of Liverpool.
Allegri, aged 46, was dismissed by AC Milan on January 13 following a humiliating defeat against Sassuolo (3-4). Now, he is on the brink of making a comeback at Tottenham. Footmercato reports that Allegri is already analyzing the English football landscape and has selected Mauro Tassotti, who is poised to leave Milan, as his assistant.
Currently sitting in 6th place in the Premier League, Tottenham is out of contention for the Champions League and aims to initiate a new era under Allegri’s leadership.
