Fabrice Muamba, the former footballer who suffered a heart attack on the pitch at White Hart Lane seven months prior, made a return to the stadium during the Europa League match between Tottenham and Maribor (3-1).
Muamba, who collapsed on the same pitch during a match, expressed his gratitude to the Spurs fans for their support and prayers. Standing at the spot where the incident occurred, he thanked the fans, and the gesture was met with loud applause.
The former Bolton player had experienced a life-threatening heart attack during a match, but the prompt response of medical teams from both Bolton and Tottenham, as well as the support from fans, contributed to his survival.
