Manchester City, led by Yaya Touré’s stellar performance, capitalized on the opportunity to narrow the gap at the top of the Premier League standings with just two matchdays remaining. Following Chelsea’s triumph over Liverpool (2-0), Manuel Pellegrini’s side secured a parallel victory, defeating Crystal Palace by the same scoreline on the 36th day of the English championship. City’s goals were netted by Dzeko in the 4th minute and Touré in the 43rd minute.
With this win, the Mancunian club now trails Liverpool by just three points in the standings, with a postponed match still in hand and a superior goal difference (+8 compared to Liverpool). The title race remains wide open for Yaya Touré and his teammates.
