England-born Nigerian attacker Ethan Nwaneri was forced off with an injury during Arsenal’s away clash against Brighton and Hove Albion.

The talented forward was handed a starting role but had to leave the field after the first half due to an injury setback.

The 17-year-old shot Arsenal to the lead after just 16 minutes into the game after he was set up by Spanish international Mikel Merino.

Nwaneri was replaced by Gabriel Martinelli before the start of the second half at the American Express Stadium.

Brighton leveled the score in the 61st minute mark after Joao Pedro converted perfectly from the spot.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta confirming Nwaneri injury said, “Unfortunately, we lost Nwaneri due to an injury. Kai Havertz tried to recover, but he was very honest and couldn’t even travel for the game.”

For Nwaneri, the goal against Brighton was his second in the current Premier League season. With it, he set a new record for Arsenal.
