Young triker Endrick has described Brazil’s upcoming World Cup showdown against Morocco as an “early semi-final”, highlighting the growing reputation and strength of the Atlas Lions on the global stage.

The highly anticipated Group C encounter between Brazil national football team and Morocco national football team is scheduled for June 14 at MetLife Stadium in the United States.

Morocco and Brazil Lead Strong Group C

Brazil and Morocco are widely viewed as the strongest teams in Group C, which also includes Scotland national football team and Haiti national football team.

The two sides currently sit sixth and eighth, respectively in the FIFA world rankings, adding even more excitement to what is expected to be one of the standout matches of the group stage.

Endrick Praises Morocco’s Quality

Speaking to Moroccan outlet Le 360 Sport, the 19-year-old striker praised Morocco’s performances at the previous World Cup and warned that Brazil expects a very difficult opening game.

“Morocco was very present in the last edition after finishing fourth, and Brazil always enters the tournament with the aim of winning the title. It will be one of the toughest group stage matches; it’s like an early semi-final,” Endrick said.

The young forward also praised the mentality and quality of the Moroccan side.

“It is a very strong team, and it proved in the last World Cup that it did not come just to participate,” he added.

Carlo Ancelotti Includes Endrick in World Cup Squad

Endrick is part of the 26 man Brazil squad selected by Carlo Ancelotti for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The teenage striker joins a star-studded squad that also includes Neymar, Vinícius Júnior and Raphinha.

After facing Morocco, Brazil will continue its group stage campaign against Haiti on June 20 in Philadelphia before taking on Scotland on June 25 in Miami.

Before the tournament begins, Brazil will also play two international friendlies against Panama national football team on May 31 and Egypt national football team on June 6 as part of their final preparations for the World Cup.
