Empoli FC officially introduced M’Baye Niang on Tuesday, February 6, following the Senegalese forward’s loan move from Adana Demirspor. The 29-year-old expressed optimism about swiftly adapting to Serie A and making a positive impact under the guidance of coach Aurelio Andreazzoli.
Having joined Empoli FC on loan on January 31, M’Baye Niang faced the press to discuss his current state of readiness. “To be honest, I arrived here without having played for a month.
I trained alone in Türkiye. I think I did well,” shared Niang. “In a few days, I will be ready. The coach will then decide for the good of the team,” he added, signaling his commitment to swiftly acclimate to his new surroundings.
Empoli FC, currently positioned 19th in the Serie A standings, made strategic moves during the winter transfer window to reinforce the squad, with M’Baye Niang being a notable addition.
The Senegalese striker acknowledged the challenge ahead, emphasizing Empoli’s objective of securing survival in the top-flight Italian league. “Empoli is a challenge because we are playing for salvation, and we want to get out of these last places,” Niang stated, setting the tone for his aspirations with the team.
Expressing his positive impression of the squad, Niang noted, “The team immediately gave me a positive impression; Serie A is always a good championship. I stayed there for many years, and thanks to the club, I had the opportunity to come back.”
Reflecting on the chance to contribute to the team, Niang highlighted the importance of demonstrating a winning mentality. “I have the chance to help the team; there are a lot of good players who I already knew. With names, we do nothing; we must show that we want to win more than the opponent,” he emphasized.
M’Baye Niang arrives with a track record of success, having scored 8 goals in the current season with Turkish club Adana Demirspor. As Empoli looks to climb the Serie A standings, Niang’s experience and determination could prove pivotal in their battle for survival.
