Emmanuel Eboué, the former Arsenal defender, sees a bright future for Ethan Nwaneri, predicting the young Gunner could surpass Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal if he stays focused.
Nwaneri’s flair and pace have caught attention this season, with fans buzzing about his potential to rank among the world’s elite youngsters.
“I think Ethan can be better than Yamal if he works hard and respects the game,” Eboué said. “When I was at Arsenal, I saw some brilliant young players like Theo Walcott, Jack Wilshere, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. People said they’d be the best in the world, but football changes quickly. Soon, people stopped talking about them.”
Eboué, who played over six years for Arsenal, raves about Nwaneri’s technical skills and impact as a substitute. Yet, he stresses that talent alone won’t cut it. “If you joke with football, football will joke with you,” Eboué warned.
“I hope Ethan and Lewis-Skelly work very hard. I will pray for them, because I want them to become the best.”
Only dedication, he insists, will unlock Nwaneri’s potential to shine brighter than Yamal.
