Elye Wahi’s swift departure from Olympique Marseille has been confirmed, just six months after his much-anticipated arrival.

The 20-year-old forward, who featured 14 times for OM this season, has signed a five-and-a-half-year deal with Eintracht Frankfurt, keeping him at the German club until 2030.

During a press conference on Friday, Marseille head coach Roberto De Zerbi shed light on the rationale behind Elye Wahi’s sudden exit. “He is another player to whom I am very linked. We come to a certain point where we have to make decisions with courage,”  RobertoDe Zerbi said. “Wahi knows why these last weeks have happened like that. He is strong, I do not change.”

The transfer was finalized for a fee of €26 million, with an additional €3 million in performance-related bonuses, according to L’Équipe. The move marks a significant shift for the former MHSC talent, whose potential now lies in bolstering Eintracht’s attacking prowess in the Bundesliga.
