Ivory Coast defender Éloge Yao targets impact in Serie C

Éloge Yao has described his move to Virtus Verona as a fresh start, marking his return to competitive football after several months away from the game.

The 30-year-old right-back has signed with the Serie C side until June 2026, following a period of inactivity since leaving Hapoel Jerusalem in the summer of 2025.

His arrival represents both a personal reset and a return to familiar surroundings, having previously developed in Italy.

I have to bring composure to the defense and share my experience with my teammates. The coach expects consistency and leadership from me, and that’s what I intend to instill from my very first minutes.”
