The global organization WomanGoal, specializing in scouting female players worldwide, in collaboration with Détection Football, held a press conference last Tuesday, February 27th, at a prestigious hotel in Tangier.
The conference aimed to unveil the behind-the-scenes of the specialized scouting days for female players in the city.
Led by journalist El Mokhtar Laroussi, the press conference sought to introduce the two organizing entities and shed light on the primary goal of scouting players aged over 17.
The initiative, conducted in 15 countries during 2024, including Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Australia, and Cameroon, marks Morocco as the first Arab country.
Additionally, similar events are set to take place in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
The organizers announced that the scouting operation in Morocco will extend to February 28th and 29th at Ibn Khaldoun Stadium in Tangier.
Over 150 players, including those from sports clubs and independents, are expected to participate.
At least one player will be selected to join a training camp in Spain, where a final selection will be made for players to sign professional contracts with various foreign clubs.
The officials emphasized that participation, registration, and involvement in the event are free of charge, providing a motivational platform for players seeking to enhance their skills and performance.
The first day witnessed significant participation, with over 100 players, some hailing from Berkane, Casablanca, and Rabat, while others represented Tangier-based teams.
Additionally, players from France, Spain, and various African countries, including those playing for Moroccan clubs like Ittihad Tangier Women’s Football, also participated.
