Nice are being linked with a move for FC Sochaux right-back Élie N’Gatta as the Ligue 1 side monitor the highly rated defender’s situation in the Championnat National.

The 20-year-old, who holds both French and Ivorian nationality, is currently valued at around €500,000 and is attracting attention after his emergence with Sochaux, where he wears the number 26 shirt. Data from Transfermarkt lists the probability of a move only as “?”, underlining that any transfer remains at the speculation stage.

N’Gatta, born on 15 February 2006 in Orléans and standing at 1.88m, has been operating primarily as a right-back for Sochaux in France’s third tier. He is a right-footed defender and is registered with FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, though there is no publicly available information on when he joined the club or when his contract expires, leaving open the possibility that he could become a free agent if no extension is agreed.

Sochaux’s recent campaign in the Championnat National has given N’Gatta regular competitive exposure, with the defender involved in their late-season fixtures. In a recent outing in the National against league opposition, he featured in a tight match as Sochaux continued their push to stabilise following their financial and sporting difficulties, further underlining his status as a first-team option at right-back.

Any move to Nice would represent a significant step up, taking N’Gatta from the third tier into Ligue 1. For the Côte d’Ivoire-eligible defender, a successful transfer could accelerate his development, raise his profile at the top level of French football and potentially open the door to future senior international recognition if he continues on his current trajectory.
