Zamalek SC head coach Ayman El-Ramady expressed his delight after his side came from behind to secure a 3-1 win over Petrojet on Saturday, in the final round of the Egyptian Premier League at the Military College Stadium.
Despite falling behind in the 24th minute to a goal from Rashad Metwally, Zamalek responded quickly.
Hossam Abdel Majeed equalized in the 30th minute, before Isho gave the Whites the lead early in the second half. Club captain Shikabala sealed the victory with a stoppage-time goal in the 90th minute.
Speaking in the post-match press conference, El-Ramady said, “This win was crucial for restoring the team’s confidence after a difficult run. I’m especially happy with the performance of the young players—they’re full of promise and capable of much more in the future.”
He added, “Zamalek will continue to entertain. It has always been a club known for its artistic and technical style of play. You’ll see the best of us soon.”
Addressing recent rumours, El-Ramady dismissed any reports of tension with the club’s board.
“There’s no crisis. Disagreements exist at all major clubs, but some are trying to turn routine differences into something bigger.”
He also clarified the absence of veteran playmaker Abdullah El-Said from the team’s recent Ismailia training camp.
“El-Said was dealing with muscle discomfort, which is unrelated to any contract issues, contrary to what’s been reported. He remains one of the most professional and technically gifted players in the squad.”
Looking ahead, El-Ramady expressed his ambition to bring more silverware to the club.
“I dream of winning the Egypt Cup with Zamalek. That’s the least I can offer to our passionate supporters,” he said.
