El Hadji Diouf has thrown his support behind the idea of Victor Osimhen joining forces with Mohamed Salah at Liverpool, saying the pair could light up Anfield.
The former Senegalese forward, who once wore the red of Liverpool himself, believes the potential partnership would thrive thanks to the club’s structure, ambition, and Champions League status.
“I think it would be the best choice for him from a sporting perspective,” Diouf told AfricaFoot. “Liverpool will be competing in the Champions League, and their plan has been clear for years.
“They’re a very big club, perfectly structured, with significant resources.”
Diouf drew parallels between a potential Osimhen-Salah connection and the iconic Salah-Sadio Mane duo that brought silverware to Merseyside.
“I remember the Mo Salah-Sadio Mane partnership, which worked very well. I think the Salah-Osimhen duo could do just as well!”
Highlighting Liverpool as both a sporting and financial opportunity for the Nigerian striker, Diouf added: “At Liverpool, Osimhen could take on a huge sporting challenge and earn a very good living. I’m convinced it could work.”
