Egyptian defender Ahmed Hossam is on the verge of joining Zamalek in the ongoing transfer window.
The 23-year-old centre-back is joining Zamalek as a replacement for Tunisian defender Hamza Mathlouthi, who suffered a cruciate ligament rupture.
According to reports in Egypt, the reigning CAF Confederation Cup holders have reached agreement with Ahmed Hossam to secure his signature.
The highly-rated defender reiterated desire to join Zamalek following a crunch meeting between both parties.
He is said to have signed a copy of the contract after agreeing personal terms with the club.
Zamalek has yet to sign a player in the ongoing window. However, Ahmed Hossam will become the club’s first signing if a deal is sealed.
The defender has made 7 appearances for El Gouna this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
