Egypt’s national football team faces a setback as their goalkeeper, Mohamed El-Shenawy, sustained a shoulder injury during the match against Cape Verde in the third round of the group stage of the Africa Cup of Nations.
Dr. Mohamed Abu Elala, the team’s chief medical officer, revealed that the extent of El-Shenawy’s absence would be determined after further examination through X-rays.
The Egyptian squad is preparing for the Round of 16 in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, securing their place with a hard-fought victory in the closing minutes.
The next match for the Egyptian team is scheduled for Sunday, January 28, 2024, at 10:00 PM Cairo time.
