Renowned sports commentator Ahmed Shobeir has disclosed the contours of Egypt’s final squad as they brace themselves for the upcoming African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast in 2024.
The AFCON tournament is scheduled to take place from January 13 to February 11, with Egypt placed in Group 2 alongside Cape Verde, Ghana, and Mozambique.
Speaking on the program “On Time Stadium,” broadcast on ON Time Sports, Shobeir shared insights into the managerial decisions made by Rui Vitoria, the head coach of the Egyptian national team.
The final squad, consisting of 27 players, will be officially announced during a press conference on Saturday afternoon.
Shobeir noted, “Vitoria has finalized the squad for the national team in preparation for the AFCON. The list will be revealed this Saturday in a press conference.” He emphasized that the selection process was challenging, stating, “Out of 30 players, not all will make it to the final list,” leaving room for potential surprises.
