Egyptian referee crew appointed for Togo vs. Mauritania World Cup qualifier

Referee crew led by Amin Omar has been appointed to officiate the World Cup qualifying match between Togo and Mauritania, set to take place on 22 March 2025.

The appointment was confirmed by the Referees Committee of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).

Amin Omar will serve as the main referee for the fixture, supported by Mahmoud Abu Raghal as the first assistant referee and Sami Helhel as the second assistant referee. Mahmoud El-Banna has been designated as the fourth official.

This selection highlights the confidence FIFA has placed in Egyptian referees for high-profile international matches.

Amin Omar, who has officiated numerous continental and international fixtures, brings significant experience to the match.

His inclusion is expected to ensure fairness and professionalism in what promises to be a competitive encounter between the two African sides.

Togo and Mauritania are both vying for a place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with every point proving crucial in the qualifying campaign.

The match is anticipated to draw significant attention as both teams look to strengthen their positions in the group standings.

The Egyptian refereeing team will be under the spotlight, with their performance playing a key role in maintaining the integrity of the game.

FIFA’s decision to assign such experienced officials reflects the governing body’s commitment to upholding high standards in officiating during the qualifiers.
