The Egyptian Professional Clubs Association has officially announced the postponement of the highly anticipated match between Al Ahly and Enppi, originally scheduled for March 15th.
The decision comes as a result of a scheduling conflict with the national team’s training camp.
The postponement follows objections raised by Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the Egyptian national team, who voiced concerns earlier about the fixture.
Hassan cited an agreement reached between him, the Egyptian Football Association, and the Egyptian Professional Clubs Association to halt league matches on March 12th.
This was to facilitate the national team’s gathering on March 13th in preparation for the upcoming friendly tournament in the UAE, featuring matches against Tunisia, Croatia, and New Zealand.
With the clash against Enppi postponed Al Ahly’s focus now shifts to their upcoming showdown against arch-rivals Zamalek.
The match is set to take place in the final of the Egypt Cup, adding extra intensity to an already fiercely contested rivalry.
Scheduled for Friday, March 8th, the highly anticipated Al Ahly vs. Zamalek encounter will kick off at 7:00 PM Cairo time (8:00 PM Saudi time).
The match will be held at the iconic Al-Awwal Park Stadium in Saudi Arabia, promising a thrilling spectacle for football fans across the region.
