Ahmed Diab, the president of the Egyptian Clubs Association, has officially announced the end date of the Egyptian Premier League for the current season of the 2023/2024 domestic competition.
Previously, the kickoff of the seventeenth round of matches in the Egyptian Premier League, scheduled for Sunday, March 31st, was postponed for three days.
According to statements made by Ahmed Diab on television, the reason behind the delay in the seventeenth round matches of the domestic competition for three days is due to broadcasting issues from the Egyptian television.
The president of the Egyptian Clubs Association continued in his statements, stating, “This is not a postponement and will not affect the league schedule in a way that delays its conclusion, but it is merely an adjustment within the same round due to matters concerning broadcasting on Egyptian television.”
Diab further commented on the end date of the domestic competition, saying, “The Egyptian Premier League will conclude on August 10th of the upcoming year.”
He concluded his remarks by stating, “If the African Union requests the names of the clubs participating in continental tournaments before the end of the season, the names of the teams will be sent based on the results of the first round according to the regulations.”
The current leader of the Egyptian Premier League standings is the team of Al-Masry Al-Borsaidi, holding the top position with 27 points after playing 14 matches since the start of the current season of the domestic competition.
