The Egyptian Premier Clubs Association has announced its approval of Hossam Hassan’s request to postpone the 16th round match of the Premier League ahead of the national team’s participation in the friendly tournament held in the Emirates from March 22 to 26.
The association confirmed that the national team’s camp will commence on March 12, which precedes the international agenda by five or six days scheduled from March 18 to 26 of the same month.
In a statement, the Egyptian Premier Clubs Association said: “Following a meeting between the board of directors of the association and the national team’s technical staff led by Captain Hossam Hassan and Captain Ibrahim Hassan, Captain Hossam presented his action plan for the upcoming period during the international breaks in March and June.”
The statement added: “Since the election of the board of directors of the Premier Clubs Association, it has always been supportive of the entire Egyptian football system, prioritizing the best interest of the senior national team in preparing well for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.”
It continued: “Based on this, the Premier Clubs Association has decided to suspend the league before the international agenda on March 12, and before June’s international agenda on June 27.”
In a related context, the Egyptian Premier Clubs Association has obtained approval to allow 20,000 spectators in local league matches alongside the League Cup.
The association, headed by Ahmed Diab, expressed its gratitude to all state institutions and security agencies for meeting the association’s requests to increase the number of spectators to 20,000 in the matches.
