Egyptian outfit Zamalek have set sights on securing the services of Al Ahly duo of Hamza Alaa and Karim Nedved as the summer transfer window approaches.
Zamalek are seeking to strengthen their squad for the upcoming campaign, having endured a challenging season this term. However, the club is reported to have made a daring attempt to begin their summer transfer preparations by pursuing two key players from their longtime rivals Al Ahly.
Zamalek are looking to capitalize on the impending contract expirations of goalkeeper Hamza Alaa and midfielder Karim Nedved, both set to become free agents on June 30.
At just 24 years old, Alaa has struggled for game time behind Mohamed El Shenawy and Mostafa Shobeir, managing only two senior appearances, in which he conceded once and kept one clean sheet. A move to Zamalek could offer him a genuine opportunity to fight for a starting role.
Nedved, a 27-year-old with 94 appearances for Al Ahly, has demonstrated experience by contributing two assists and seven goals.
Zamalek are reportedly pushing hard to seal both signings in the coming days, aiming to strike early in the window and gain an edge ahead of the 2024–25 campaign.
If successful, the moves would mark a major statement in Egypt’s fiercest football rivalry—and signal Zamalek’s intent to strengthen from within enemy lines.
