The coaching staff of the Egyptian national football team, led by Hossam Hassan, has found itself in a dispute with the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) over the scheduling of a crucial fixture between Al Ahly and ENPPI on March 15th.
The disagreement arises due to conflicting interests, as the national team is set to commence a training camp on March 12th in preparation for an upcoming friendly tournament in the UAE featuring Croatia, Tunisia, and New Zealand.
While Amer Hussein, the head of the Competitions Committee and a member of the Egyptian Football Association, stated that the Hassan twins were informed of all match timings set by the EFA, a source within the national team denied that the coaching staff had agreed to fixtures beyond March 12th, the scheduled start date of their training camp under the new head coach.
The source clarified that the Hassan twins held a meeting with the Egyptian Football Association to coordinate match schedules without disrupting the national team’s training camp.
Furthermore, it was revealed that Hossam Hassan, the head coach, requested six days before the commencement of the upcoming training camp, as well as before the team’s preparation camp for their matches against Burkina Faso and Equatorial Guinea.
The coaching staff has chosen not to publicize the conflict with the Football Association and the Clubs Union to avoid any accusations of provocation before the commencement of the training camps.
