Egyptian midfielder Mustafa Moawad joins Al-Wehdat first-team training in Jordan

Egyptian footballer Mustafa Moawad has officially arrived in Jordan to begin his tenure with Al-Wehdat SC, joining the club’s first-team training ahead of the upcoming football season.

Touching down at Queen Alia International Airport in the early hours of the morning, Moawad was welcomed by Mohammed Jamal, Al-Wehdat’s first-team director, along with members of the club’s public relations committee.

His arrival marks a key step in the team’s pre-season preparations as they look to build a competitive squad for domestic and regional challenges.

The midfielder is expected to immediately integrate into training under the supervision of Tunisian head coach Qais Al-Yaqoubi, who has already begun shaping the squad during the early stages of the club’s pre-season camp.

Al-Wehdat’s management views Moawad’s addition as a strategic move to enhance the depth and quality of the midfield unit.

Known for his versatility, tactical awareness, and composure in possession, Moawad is seen as a valuable asset who can contribute both offensively and defensively.

His experience in Egyptian football, particularly in high-pressure environments, is expected to be a major advantage for a side looking to challenge on multiple fronts in the new campaign.

Al-Wehdat SC, one of Jordan’s most decorated football clubs, is currently reinforcing its roster with international talent to strengthen its push for silverware.

Moawad becomes one of the club’s key foreign signings this window, alongside other professionals such as Palestinian defender Wajdi Nabhan and Mauritanian striker Mamadou Niass, who also joined the squad recently.

The club’s technical staff has emphasised the importance of early integration and cohesion, as Al-Wehdat prepares for a packed calendar that includes league competition, domestic cup fixtures, and potential appearances in regional tournaments.

Moawad’s timely arrival ensures he can participate fully in training sessions and develop chemistry with his new teammates ahead of the season opener.

Supporters of Al-Wehdat have welcomed the Egyptian’s arrival with optimism, eager to see how his experience and style of play will influence the midfield dynamic.

With the club aiming to reclaim its dominant position in Jordanian football and make a strong showing in regional competitions, each new addition is expected to play a pivotal role.

Moawad is scheduled to undergo final administrative and medical procedures before being officially registered with the Jordan Football Association.

Once completed, he will be eligible to feature in friendly matches and competitive fixtures alike, depending on the discretion of the coaching staff.

As pre-season preparations intensify, all eyes will be on Moawad’s adaptation to the team’s system and his potential impact on Al-Wehdat’s performances.

For the player, it represents a new chapter in his professional career — one that he hopes will be marked by success and growth in Jordanian football.
