Egyptian international Mostafa Mohamed has emerged as a top transfer target for Al Ahly in the current winter transfer window.

The 28-year-old forward, whose contract expires in 2027 has fallen out of favour, limiting his appearances in the ongoing football campaign.

This season, the Egyptian attacker has struggled for consistent minutes, with his appearances becoming increasingly limited as Nantes reshuffled their attacking options.

Despite the lack of regular game time, the Egyptian forward has managed to score three goals in 16 appearances, a return that has kept him relevant on the transfer market.

His situation has reportedly attracted interest from clubs looking to bolster their attacking departments, with Al Ahly no exception.

Al Ahly, who are the record Champions League holders have emerged as strong contenders for the signature of Mostafa Mohammed. The Cairo-based club is said to be keen on bringing Mostafa Mohamed back to the Egyptian league, viewing the former Zamalek striker as an ideal addition to reinforce their frontline.

Meanwhile, negotiations now hinge on reaching a financial agreement between Al Ahly and Nantes. While talks are ongoing, Nantes are reportedly holding out for a substantial transfer fee, which could complicate the deal.

Mostafa Mohamed is currently valued at €4 million, but reports suggest Nantes are demanding a figure well above that valuation, as Al Ahly weigh their options in pursuit of the prolific Egyptian forward.
