Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly is racing against time to renew the contracts of four key players few months to the expiration of their deal at the club.
The record Champions League holders risk losing some influential players, whose contract expires at the end of the current season.
Goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy, Hamza Alaa alongside defenders Yasser Ibrahim and Rami Rabia will become free agents two months later in both parties are unable to agree on a new deal.
Aside goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shenawy, who has reportedly agreed to sign a two-year renewal deal with the club, the remaining three players are said to be dragging their feats to renew.
Defender Yasser Ibrahim has rejected Al Ahly’s initial two-year contract renewal offer despite pay rise. At the moment, the club is still in talks to get the player renew his deal.
For Rami Rabia, he is demanding a 20 million pounds from the club before agreeing to a new deal, which the club is not ready to accept. Al Ahly are proposing 14 million pounds offer instead.
According to reports in Egypt, Rami Rabi’s representative has opened negotiations with Pyramids over a possible move in the summer.
Meanwhile, Hamza Alaa is still refusing attempts to renew his contract, and there is a final attempt by the management to resolve the situation at hand.
