Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly have set sights on securing the services of enterprising winger Ahmed Sayed ‘Zizo from Zamalek in the summer transfer window.
Al Ahly are seeking to strengthen their squad in the upcoming window, as the team gear up for the FIFA Club World Cup in June.
However, the club has identified Zizo, who plies his trade for Zamalek as the player to bolster their attack for the new campaign.
Zizo’s contract with Zamalek is expected to expire in June, sparking speculations about his future as the summer window approaches.
According to reports, Al Ahly is preparing an attractive €5 million offer to secure the services of the forward to the red side of Cairo for next season.
With this offer, Zizo, who will become a free agent in the summer could follow in the footsteps of former Zamalek teammate, Emam Ashour, who made a controversial switch to Al Ahly earlier this year, shocking many fans.
Zizo has made 31 appearances for Zamalek in all competitions in season, tallying eight goals and providing eight assists. He has also played a significant role for Egypt on the international scene, with two goals and one assist in eight games for the Pharaohs.
The rivalry between Egypt’s two greatest clubs would heat up if Zizo chose to join Al Ahly, which would be a serious setback for Zamalek.
