Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly have opened talks to secure the services of Ghazal El Mahalla striker Mahmoud Salah this summer.
The 20-year-old forward has emerged as one of the season’s standout prospects after making the successful transition from El Mahalla’s youth academy to their senior squad during Egypt’s Capital Cup campaign.
Al Ahly are keen to sign the highly-rated youngster this summer, signaling the clubs continued commitment to investing in young domestic talent.
Following an extensive monitoring, Al Ahly’s youth development director Wael Soliman has personally recommended Salah to the technical planning committee.
The leadership of the club are convinced of the youngster’s potential to strengthen the Red Castle’s long-term ambitions and poised to secure his signature.
Preliminary negotiations have already commenced between the two clubs, with Al Ahly officials engaging directly with Ghazal El Mahalla president Walid Khalil.
While Khalil has requested additional time to consider the proposal, the move aligns perfectly with Al Ahly’s strategic shift toward identifying and developing promising Egyptian talents rather than pursuing expensive foreign imports.
