Magdi Abdelghani, former member of the Egyptian Football Union, took aim at the current administration led by Jamal Alam, following recent decisions, notably the dismissal of Portuguese coach Rui Vitoria as the manager of the Egyptian national team.
In televised remarks on MBC Masr, Abdelghani expressed his discontent, stating, “The decisions of the Football Union are not clear.
There should have been a press conference to clarify these decisions to the public.
However, the board released the statement on social media, leaving people in the dark.”
Addressing the members of the Football Union, Abdelghani questioned, “We want to know, what will happen to the 800,000 euros owed to Vitoria? Will it be paid? Will it be paid at once? The coach will not waive a single penny.”
He went on to highlight the lack of experience among some members of the union, saying, “The problem is that there are members within the union lacking experience.
Those who were previously part of the union didn’t gain any expertise. Hany Abo Rida and Ahmed Megahed didn’t seize the opportunity to learn.
Mohamed Abou El-Ela learned nothing while being with us. Hazem Emam didn’t come here to learn, and consequently, they lack expertise.”
