The Egyptian Football Federation has officially announced the return of Mohamed El-Shennawy, the goalkeeper for Al-Ahly and the Egyptian national team, to Cairo after undergoing a successful shoulder surgery in Germany.
El-Shennawy suffered a dislocation and fracture in the shoulder joint during Egypt’s match against Cape Verde in the Africa Cup of Nations.
In a statement released on their official account, the Egyptian Football Federation declared El-Shennawy’s return to Cairo after a successful medical journey in Germany.
The statement read as follows:
“The Egyptian Football Federation welcomed Mohamed El-Shennawy, the goalkeeper for the Egyptian national team and Al-Ahly, today, Sunday, following his return from a medical treatment trip in Germany.
El-Shennawy sustained a shoulder dislocation during his participation in the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, necessitating his travel to Germany for urgent surgery before returning to Egyptian soil to continue the rehabilitation phase.”
