The Egyptian Football Federation (EFF) has responded to the recent comments made by Ahmed Hossam, known as “Mido,” a former Zamalek star and Egypt international, regarding the appointment of Alaa Nabil as the technical director of the federation.
Mido took to his official social media account to express his discontent, stating, “The appointment of Alaa Nabil as the technical director of the Football Federation violates FIFA regulations.
The man lacks the required qualifications for this position. It’s a new scandal for Egyptian football.
I urge the honorable Minister, Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, to intervene immediately. What is happening is not worthy of Egypt.”
A source within the Egyptian Football Federation, speaking exclusively to Al-Masry Al-Youm, responded to Mido’s criticism, stating, “There is no justification for Mido’s attack on Alaa Nabil, as he has no relation to the decisions of the Football Federation.”
The source continued, “Alaa Nabil is a highly experienced coach with all the necessary qualifications.
He has achieved success with previous national teams, having worked alongside the late Mahmoud El-Gohary with the Jordan national team and with youth sectors in clubs such as Al Mokawloon Al Arab and Zed.”
The source emphasized that Mido was not among the candidates considered for the position of technical director of the Football Federation.
