The Egyptian Football Federation has not yet reached a final decision on extending the registration period for winter transfers made during the current transfer window.
Ihab El-Komy told “Al-Masry Al-Youm”: “A decision to extend the registration period has not been finalized.”
He added, “It is highly likely that the period will be extended to allow clubs to register new deals.
The decision will be made in the coming hours, as regulations stipulate that the decision to extend should be taken a day before the end of the registration period.”
The Egyptian Premier League is set to resume action from the twelfth round, scheduled for February 13th.
The uncertainty regarding the extension revolves around facilitating clubs’ ability to finalize and register new player acquisitions as the winter transfer window nears its conclusion.
The Egyptian Football Federation aims to make a prompt decision to provide clarity for clubs and players involved in ongoing transfer negotiations.
