Egyptian FA confirms suspension of Nabil Emad Donga for Super Cup
The Egyptian Football Association has clarified its decision regarding the participation of Zamalek midfielder Nabil Emad Donga in the upcoming Egyptian Super Cup, scheduled to be held in the UAE next month.
The FA officially announced that Donga will be suspended for four matches in the tournament as a consequence of his actions in the last Super Cup semifinal against Pyramids.
The incident in question involved altercations on the field and led to disciplinary action not only against Donga but also other individuals present. Although debate circulated in the media over whether the punishment should apply, the FA emphasized that the suspension is valid and will be enforced in the coming competition.
Zamalek had sought clarification on Donga’s status, hoping he could compete. However, the club received confirmation that the ban remains in place. As preparations continue for the Super Cup semifinal, Zamalek must plan without Donga, while Al Ahly faces Ceramica Cleopatra in the parallel fixture. The winners will meet in the final on November 9, with the losers contesting third place on the same day.
