Egyptian international Mohamed Abdelmonem is working hard to fully recover from a cruciate ligament tear.
The 26-year-old, who plies his trade with French Ligue 1 side OGC Nice, suffered the setback during a match against Paris Saint-Germain in Round 31 of the French League.
The club confirmed on April 26 that Abdelmonem had torn his ACL after collapsing on the pitch.
After two months, the resilient centre-back has shared updates from his rehabilitation journey.
He posted a photo on Instagram on Monday, showing how he is undergoing intensive gym sessions to regain full fitness.
Before the injury, Abdelmonem featured in 18 matches for Nice this season, accumulating 1,395 minutes of playing time and picking up three yellow cards.
His recovery is being closely monitored not only by his club but also by the Egyptian national team, who are counting on his return ahead of crucial assignments.
Egypt is set to continue its 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign in September and October, before turning attention to the next Africa Cup of Nations.
He will be key for the Pharaohs if he recovers in time.
