Raja Casablanca, the Moroccan football powerhouse, is reportedly eyeing Egyptian tactician Tarek Mostafa to replace Ricardo Sa Pinto, whose tenure ended abruptly due to lackluster results.
Mostafa, currently helming National Bank of Egypt, has emerged as a strong contender for the position, with an official offer already on the table.
Ricardo Sa Pinto’s departure, confirmed on Friday, December 20, came just two months into his tenure. Despite high hopes, the Portuguese coach struggled to produce consistent performances. Raja Casablanca languishes in sixth place in the Botola Pro League standings, 10 points adrift of leaders RSB Berkane. Their CAF Champions League campaign has been equally dismal, with the team sitting at the bottom of their group after two defeats and a draw.
While Tunisian coach Nasreddine Nabi was initially considered, the club has now shifted focus to Mostafa. Renowned for his tactical acumen, the former Egyptian international could soon bring his expertise to Morocco. For now, Hafid Abdel Sadiq will oversee the team in an interim capacity, but all eyes are on Mostafa as Raja Casablanca seeks a revival.
