Mohamed Barakat, former star of Al Ahly and the Egyptian national team, emphasized the necessity of changes in the coaching staff of the Pharaohs following the team’s performance in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Speaking on the “Al-Rimontada” program on Al-Mehwar channel, Mohamed Barakat stated, “Changes should have been made to the national team after the performance displayed in the Africa Cup of Nations.”
He added, “The performance before the Africa Cup of Nations indicated potential for reaching further, but the team exited the tournament in the round of 16.”
Mohamed Barakat concluded his remarks by saying, “The Egyptian public wanted Hossam Hassan to be appointed as the coach of the national team, given his significant achievements, and the Football Association contracted him to fulfill the aspirations.”
The Egyptian national team bid farewell to the tournament in the round of 16 after losing to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
