Egypt players celebrate Hassan brothers’ contract extension

Egypt’s players have celebrated the extension of manager Hossam Hassan and his coaching staff, whose contracts will now run until 2030.

The Egyptian Football Association announced the new agreement after Hassan guided the national team to fourth place at the Africa Cup of Nations and qualification for the last 16 of the 2026 World Cup.

Captain Mohamed Salah congratulated Hossam Hassan and his twin brother Ibrahim on the contract renewal, while wishing the national team further success and progress under the coaching staff.

Salah said the celebration was a simple gesture from the players to the national team’s coaching staff.

Hossam Hassan thanked the squad and said he was pleased by the celebration.

Egypt begin their preparations for the next stage of their schedule with a match against Angola on 25 September. The game will be played on Friday at 22:00 in the opening round of the African qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The team will then travel to Juba to face South Sudan in the second round on 29 September.

Egypt are also due to play South Africa in a friendly on 4 October.
