Egypt’s national team head coach Hossam Hassan has commented on the widespread rumors about Zamalek’s star player Ahmed Mostafa “Zizo” possibly switching sides to join rivals Al-Ahly.
With Zizo’s contract nearing its end, the 29-year-old’s future remains uncertain as Zamalek pushes to keep him at the White Castle.
Hassan shared his thoughts on MBC Masr’s “Ramez Elon Masr,” saying, “If Zizo went to Al-Ahly, it would be better.” His blunt take stirred the pot in Egyptian football, where club loyalties run deep and transfers between giants like Zamalek and Al-Ahly spark endless debate.
Meanwhile, Zamalek is scrambling to lock Zizo into a new deal as whispers grow louder about Al-Ahly circling the talented star. On another note, Hassan didn’t hold back his praise for Al-Ahly’s latest coup securing Trabzonspor’s Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet,” currently on loan at Al Rayyan.
“Trezeguet’s signing will be the Red Devils’ biggest in 15 years,” he predicted. Al-Ahly confirmed the winger’s arrival for a five-year stint starting next summer.
