Egypt drawn with Saudi Arabia and Iraq in Gulf Under-17 Cup

Egypt Under-17 have been drawn in Group B alongside Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait and Yemen for the Gulf Under-17 Cup.

Group A consists of United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and China.

Qatar will host the tournament from 16 October to 4 November 2026, with 10 national teams taking part. It will be the largest edition in the competition’s history.

The Gulf Football Federation said Qatar’s local organising committee would oversee the tournament and host the matches in coordination with the Gulf Football Federation, as preparations continue for the competition’s start in October.

The tournament will feature the national teams of the Gulf federation’s member associations – United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait and Yemen – alongside Egypt and China.

The draw was conducted by distributing the participating teams across five pots, based on the standings from the most recent tournament organised by the Gulf federation for the same age group.

Before the draw, the competition committee had the authority to determine the pots as it considered appropriate if national teams were taking part for the first time. Each pot contained two teams.
