Eberechi Eze targets more trophies after scoring the winning goal over Mansfield Town
Eberechi Eze reflected on his match-winning cameo after coming off the bench to fire Arsenal past Mansfield Town with a 2-1 victory in the FA Cup fifth round.
Introduced in the second half, the midfielder made an instant impact, drifting into space on the edge of the box before unleashing a powerful strike that decided the tie.
“Happy to score. I had the space and the opportunity to shoot. So I took it,” Eze said, summing up the instinctive moment that sent the Gunners into the next round. He admitted it was “a difficult environment to play in,” but stressed that Arsenal did what was required on the day and that progressing was all that mattered.
Eze also spoke about the bigger picture, underlining the squad’s ambition and mindset. “We are working hard and we are focussing on the process. Otherwise, we won’t get there. We are working hard and doing everything we can to win all the silverware on offer,” he added, making it clear that both he and his teammates are thinking well beyond just one FA Cup win.
