Dutch club FC Utrecht is ramping up its efforts to secure the services of Ivorian striker Sebastien Haller during the January transfer window.
Haller, currently on loan at Spanish side Leganés from Borussia Dortmund, may see his loan spell cut short this month to facilitate the move.
According to a report from Sky Deutschland’s Florian Plettenberg, Utrecht is making significant strides in its bid.
“FC Utrecht now pushing to sign Sébastien Haller on loan. Talks with BVB about the new details are ongoing and positive. The loan with Leganés is set to be terminated at the request of all parties involved,” Plettenberg has revealed.
Haller is reportedly open to returning to Utrecht, where he enjoyed a successful stint between 2015 and 2017, cementing his reputation as a top-tier forward.
As discussions progress, Utrecht fans will undoubtedly be eager to see the prolific striker don their colours once again, potentially bolstering the team’s attacking prowess in the second half of the season.
