Dutch-Nigerian forward Joshua Zirkzee emerges as transfer target for Champions League finalists Inter Milan

Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee could be on his way out of Old Trafford as reports link him with a potential move to Everton while he weighs a return to Serie A.

The 24-year-old Dutch-Nigerian striker, who joined United from Bologna last summer, has found opportunities hard to come by under new manager Ruben Amorim.

Zirkzee has yet to start a single game this season and has struggled to make an impression since his £35 million transfer, managing just seven goals in 49 appearances across all competitions last term.

According to reports in Calciomercato.com and Mail Sport, Everton and West Ham United have shown strong interest in the former Bayern Munich prodigy, believing he could provide creativity and physical presence in attack despite his underwhelming form at Old Trafford.

Amorim’s tactical overhaul has left several established names on the fringes, with Zirkzee among those facing uncertain futures.

The Portuguese coach has favoured new arrivals Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko, leaving little room for the young forward.

Sources close to Zirkzee indicate that the striker is open to returning to Italy, where he previously flourished with Bologna and gained valuable Serie A experience.

AC Milan, who had shown interest before his move to England, are reportedly monitoring his situation closely and could reignite their pursuit in January.

With Marcus Rashford excelling at Barcelona and former United teammates Rasmus Højlund and Scott McTominay thriving at Napoli, Zirkzee is believed to be seeking similar success elsewhere.

A loan or permanent transfer could be on the cards as the Dutch-born forward looks to rediscover the form that once made him one of Europe’s most promising young attackers.
