Dutch defender of Cape Verdean descent Jorrel Hato has completed his move to Chelsea.
The teenager has signed for the English Premier League club ahead of the 2025/26 football season.
Chelsea announced the signing of the defender in an official statement on Sunday, August 3.
“Chelsea is delighted to announce the signing of Netherlands international Jorrel Hato from Ajax.
“The 19-year-old defender has penned a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge through to 2032 and will join up with his new team-mates this week,” Chelsea announced.
Reacting to the move, Jorrel Hato said he is delighted and believes this is the right step in his career.
“I’m very excited, I’m so happy to be here. I thought a lot about my future and wanted to take the next step in my career. Chelsea is the best place for me to do that so I’m very happy,” Jorrel Hato said.
