Durban City are on the verge of signing highly rated Mali full-back Alou Doumbia from Djoliba AC, in what is shaping up to be one of the club’s headline moves of the transfer window.

The 23-year-old, who recently lifted the Malian league title, has agreed terms with the Betway Premiership side after more than a year on their scouting radar.

His imminent arrival follows the departure of left-back Terrence Mashego to Stellenbosch FC, a transfer that appears to have fast-tracked City’s pursuit of Doumbia, according to club insiders.
