Dreams FC showcased an impressive display of resilience as they held Zamalek Cairo to a goalless draw (0-0) in the first leg of the CAF Cup semi-final on Sunday, marking a historic moment for the Ghanaian side.

Facing the formidable Egyptian giants at the Cairo International Stadium, Dreams FC refused to be intimidated by the hostile atmosphere and relentless pressure from Zamalek’s supporters.

Led by coach Abdul Karim Zito, the team demonstrated remarkable defensive solidity, frustrating Zamalek’s attacking efforts throughout the match.

Despite Zamalek’s dominance in possession and numerous goal attempts, Dreams FC’s disciplined defensive line limited their opponents to just six shots on target out of 25, showcasing their determination and resilience on the pitch.

The defining moment of the match came when Zamalek’s final attempt was denied by a combination of well-timed blocks and a stroke of luck as the ball hit the post during a frantic goalmouth scramble.

While Dreams FC had limited opportunities in attack, they capitalized on a rare chance with a long-range free kick from Abdul Aziz Issah, forcing Zamalek’s goalkeeper into action and ensuring that Dreams FC registered their only shot on target.

The final whistle marked a historic achievement for Dreams FC, as they celebrated their hard-fought draw against one of Africa’s footballing powerhouses.

The jubilant scenes at the end of the match reflected the team’s satisfaction with their performance and resilience against formidable opposition.

With the stage set for the return leg in Kumasi, Ghana, Dreams FC will carry the momentum from their impressive performance into the next encounter, promising another thrilling clash as they aim to secure a spot in the final of the CAF Cup.
